Easter @ Pea Ridge

Easter is almost here! The world looks a lot different this year as we navigate the battle against the coronavirus. We have completely adjusted our Easter plans so you can still participate and keep social distancing guidelines! We hope you’ll join us as we focus on our Savior and his love, and please invite someone else to follow this spiritual journey.

Sunday, April 5 – Communion at Your House

April 5 is Communion Sunday and we want you to be able to observe this important time right in your own home. Use whatever you have available for something to eat that represents Christ’s body broken for us, and something to drink that represents his blood shed for us. Pastor Dan is planning on using something from his house as well. Let’s remember Christ’s sacrifice for us … there is no reason to allow this virus to stop us from doing that!

Sunday, April 5 through Saturday, April 11 – The Holy Week Journey (East Pea Ridge area)

Something new this year to help us focus our hearts on our Savior: the Holy Week Journey! With signs that contain Scripture and a prayer focus, you are invited to walk or drive this two-mile journey that begins at the church and continues at various homes throughout the East Pea Ridge area (from the church, head east on East Pea Ridge Road and turn left onto Baker Road). Please follow all social distancing guidelines during the journey. The journey is open April 5-11 from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. and will transform to a new resurrection focus from April 12-18. Keep in mind if you plan to walk this journey, there are large hills from the church to location #2 and from location #6 back to the church. You also should watch for cars all along this journey but especially on those two stretches, because they contain sharp curves and the road does not have a shoulder. A map of the locations can be downloaded by clicking on the button below:

Thursday, April 9 – Day of Fasting and Prayer

You are encouraged to join a day of fasting and prayer as our church family seeks to draw closer to Christ. Fasting is a tool God gives us to refocus our hearts on Him. Pastor Dan has shared a message entitled “Losing to Gain” about the significance of fasting and you can view it in the video player on this page.

Friday, April 10 – Good Friday Movie Night at Home

Because we can’t gather for a movie night during this time of social distancing, we encourage you to rent and watch the movie “Overcomer” at home. If you have other members in your household, make it a family movie night! This description is from the movie’s social media page:

“Life changes overnight for coach John Harrison when his high school basketball team’s state championship dreams are crushed under the weight of unexpected news. When the largest manufacturing plant in town suddenly shuts down and hundreds of families begin moving away, John must come to grips with the challenges facing his family and his team. Urged by the school’s principal to fill-in and coach a sport he doesn’t know or like, John is frustrated and questioning his worth… until he crosses paths with a student struggling with her own journey. ‘Overcomer’ dares to leave you filled with hope, inspired to dream, and asks the question: what do you allow to define you?”

You can watch the official movie trailer on the media player located on this page.

Sunday, April 12 – Easter Sunday

Celebrate Christ’s resurrection as we worship together through live stream on our Facebook page! The worship gathering begins at 10:45 a.m., complete with lyrics to our worship songs so you can sing praises to God at home and sermon points to help you easily follow the message. In addition, we plan to share some video testimonies of people from our church! If you need help navigating Facebook, send us an email.
