Operation Christmas Child
"Good news, great joy" ... this is what Operation Christmas Child is all about! Our church is excited to once again partner with Samaritan's Purse to send shoeboxes filled with gifts to boys and girls around the world. But there's something very special about these shoeboxes: they also contain the greatest gift, which is the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have not been collecting items this year and we are not hosting a shoebox packing party. However, we do encourage you to pack your own shoebox and drop it off at the church on or before Sunday, November 15. For detailed instructions about how to pack a shoebox, click the "How to Pack a Shoebox" button.
The Elf Tree is an outreach of our church through which we provide gifts for local children who might not otherwise receive anything for Christmas. We also include Gospel resources for the children and adults in the family. This year, Instead of asking our congregation to purchase specific gifts and drop them off at the church, we are collecting monetary donations that our shopping team will use to purchase the gifts. You can mark your offering envelope with “Elf," go to our online giving page and select "Elf Tree" from the dropdown menu, or use text to give with keyword, “Elf.”
Each year we provide a full Christmas dinner for families in our area who are in need. This year we will be collecting monetary donations to purchase grocery gift cards for the food basket recipients instead of collecting food. This process was suggested by the Eastern Cabell County Humanities Organization (ECCHO) and will allow us to continue blessing others at Christmas while keeping everyone safe. You can mark your offering envelope with “Christmas Baskets,” go to our online giving page and select "Christmas Food Baskets" from the dropdown menu, or use text to give with keyword, “Christmasbaskets.”
